ESTI understands that business does not stop simply because your network is not working. Our team assists clients in developing robust backup strategies and implementing the components and procedures in order to minimize the impact of system failures on core services. This includes both the prevention of failures, and, in the worst case, the minimization of the amount of data lost.
High Availability
ESTI actively encourages our clients to incorporate all available technology in their continuity planning. Our staff can develop server specifications and perform the configuration of the servers.
In high availability database environments, this includes a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID). If a disk fails in the RAID volume, the system will continue to operate allowing staff to replace the failed disk without down time. These volumes can both increase performance and enhance stability.
Backup Systems
Secure backups are one of the most important aspects of the corporate network environment. ESTI analysts perform full system backups utilizing Grandfather-Father-Son (GFS) rotations to maximize coverage. We also ensure the validity of the system by verifying the contents of the backups and performing test restores. Procedures are monitored using email notifications to ensure that the nightly backups are successful and that any issues that may arise can be addressed immediately. ESTI has experience with a variety of backup hardware including DAT, DLT, SDLT and tape libraries.
Battery Backup
ESTI analysts work with APC battery backup devices. All servers in an organization's production environment are protected from power spikes, surges, and brown outs utilizing APC UPS devices. Automatic notifications allow our technical team to respond to power issues in real-time. Servers are configured to shutdown gracefully in the event of a power failure.
