Saskatchewan Teachers' Superannuation Commission Completes Upgrades

- Project 1 - Pension administration applications upgrade
- Project start February 1, 2004.
- Project end September 30, 2004.
- The STSC completed an upgrade to the pension administration software.
- ESTI performed project management tasks, application enhancement and development as well as full regression testing utilizing automated regression-testing tools ( WinRunner ).
- ESTI has developed a number of applications for the STSC that integrate with a core pension calculation application to form a comprehensive pension administration system. These systems include:
- Allowance and Payroll Production.
- Long Term Disability.
- PAWS (Pension at Work System).
- Data Remittance and Pre-posting.
- Project 2 - Network and Hardware upgrade
- Project start September 1, 2004.
- Project end September 30, 2004.
- Ten new workstations were rolled out which brought the STSC back in line with the prescribed hardware refresh rate.
- The crisp new look of flat panel screens throughout the STSC office not only reclaimed valuable desk space, but satisfied a number of ergonomic assessment suggestions.
- Extensive use of Active Directory policies to manage security on the desktops.
- Streamlining of patch rollout using Microsoft System Update Service (SUS).
- Project 3 - E-mail server upgrade
- Project start July 1, 2004.
- Project end September 30, 2004.
- Exchange Server was upgraded from version 5.5 to 2003 as well as the Norton Anti-virus was upgraded to the latest Enterprise versions.
- Improved e-mail spam filtering and improved client management.
